Liquid jet - Laboratory J165 (wet part)
Preparation of samples:
Intensive impact of pure water or abrasive water jet machines investigated material that is by cutting, turning, milling, grinding or polishing. Influence of material parameters and jet properties is studied regarding mechanism of disintegration and, subsequently, quantity and quality of machining.
Laboratory equipment:
- High pressure pump PTV 19/60 based on Flow HSQ 5X; pressure up to 415 MPa, flow rate up to 1.9 l/min
- Cutting x-y CNC table WJ1020-1Z-EKO with equipment
- Special pressure chamber with sample handling equipment (overpressure up to 4 MPa)
- Kärcher pump 390 for pressure stabilization in pressure chamber (pressure up to 10 MPa, flow rate up to 6.5 l/min) with equipment
- Kränzle 3270 pump (pressure 10 to 25 MPa, flow rate up to 13 l/min)
- Pump URACA RF708E/500 (pressure up to 50 MPa, flow rate up to 50 l/min)
- Vibrating separator RetschAS200 for preparation and analysis of abrasive samples
- Device for sample rotation with horizontal rotation axes (design and production PTS Solnař)
- Device for sample turning (design and production KPVP, FVT in Prešov, TU Košice)
- Device for sample rotation with vertical rotation axes (design and production KPVP, FVT in Prešov, TU Košice)

Investigated materials:
All solid-state materials, namely steels, concretes, rocks, glass and ceramics.
Investigated properties of materials:
- kind of material disintegration regarding material structure and behaviour under liquid jet impact
- kind of material disintegration regarding jet type and temperature state of material
- influence of technological parameters onto the kind of material disintegration and hence on qualitative and quantitative characteristics of its machining
- influence of technological and material parameters on force and vibration phenomena of jet
Development of new devices:
- designing of device for modulation of liquid jet
- development of device for measurement of selected parameters of jet (force impact, flow velocity)
- layout of new mixing principles and increasing of mixed abrasive efficiency
- development of devices for new and non-traditional applications of liquid jets
